Introduction

WHAT!? It’s the end of February already - didn’t the year just start? How time flies….

Anyway, today’s blog is going to focus on blogging. Yes, you read that correctly – it’s not a typo. Although it’s ironic to read this in a blog, blogging is essential for your website’s growth. Today’s read will focus on the importance of blogging to a website and how you can make the most out of it.

Boosting SEO

We’ve discussed SEO and its importance on previous blogs (check them out here) which I recommend checking out before moving forward here.

Blogs and websites go hand in hand. Now, as you know, blogs typically contain lots of words – words that are commonly related to specific topics. When you increase the number of webpages (blogs) in your website that all contains relative keywords, search engines may give off multiple suggestions to your webpages just from a search of those specific keywords. In the long term, it will relate your website and blogs to those keywords, thus improving your keyword rankings in search engines.

Building Authority

Whenever I’m searching for information, I always try to obtain it from trusted sources. Wouldn’t you rather get insights from an expert than some random person yapping away with no trust in their name. In order to become a trusted source, publishing blogs is key. Well written and cited blogs will help you build authority in your respective field.

Driving Traffic

Say you have your own successful website up and running. A user visits your website, goes through all information, engages with your services, then leaves your website. The same user then visits your website again, this time they don’t stay for long as they likely visited again just to get something they wanted. Since your website is not going to change ever so often, visits like this can hurt your traffic. Blogs add fresh content to your website to attract and engage visitors.

Encouraging Conversions

Some visitors may be on the fence about your services/products. As a business, we should always strive to convert site visitors into customers. A great way to do so is to link blog posts to the services/products offered in your website. This way, visitors gain knowledge insight towards the positives of your services/products and may be swayed into making transactions.

Consistency is Key

All right, I’ve listed a lot about the great impacts blogging has on your website. Though, I must warn you, if you’re a procrastinator you should buckle up. To achieve greatness, consistency is key. Blogging will only help your website grow IF AND ONLY IF it is done consistently. Regular posting of blogs are necessary to keep your website updated and give good impressions of your website to visitors.

Do you know that? Companies that post 16+ blog posts per month get almost 3.5 times more traffic than those posting 0-4 monthly.
